Jeff Laitila

Jeff Laitila is a Japan based American photographer who's travels take him all over the world, but his main subject is Japan.

"Two of my great passions in life are travel and photography. I believe that travel broadens one's view of the world, and in learning more about the world, we ultimately end up learning a great deal about ourselves.

Through my photography I seek to document my own personal experiences, to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with others the beauty and diversity that is Japan.

To try to capture in an image the emotions I felt at the moment I tripped the camera's shutter, that is my goal.

The best compliment I have ever received about my work was when a person told me that my photos had made them homesick for a place that they had never been."

Suginoi Hotel, located in the famous Japanese hot spring town of Beppu, gives guests an amazing view of the bay below from the terraced outdoor baths at its bathhouse, Tanayu.
